Sunday - Day 1 of Blog

This is my first day to blog.  I am in the process of making a major transition which involves closing down my counseling business in West Virginia and moving away from the many friends I have made in the West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio area.     I would like to believe that I am not attached to this lovely Victorian House, to my role as a counselor/therapist or to the comfort of being close to dear friends and much that has become comfortable for me.  I know that this is not entirely true because I am feeling a lot of anxiety about this letting go process. 

Another part of is excited and cannot wait to begin the new phase of my life.    My commitment is to be open to new experiences and, thus, put myself in situations which are initially uncomfortable.    Already I have had to ask for help more often than I am used to. Although I believe that we are all interdependent, I have also “secretly” prided myself on being independent; on not having to often ask for help on a practical level. I have less trouble asking for help emotionally.  I have this lovely group of friends who love me unconditionally and challenge me to grow.

Starting this blog page meant facing my discomfort in not knowing how to set up a web page. 

I have no real idea or plan for this blog but am trusting the advice of a number of people I respect who have strongly advised me to do begin sharing in this way.
